Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramírez, a Mexican boxer with an impeccable professional record, is warming up for a Saturday night bout, one last hurdle before getting a shot at the World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight title. Ramirez will face Yunieski Gonzalez in a final eliminator securing a chance to defeat the unbeaten champion, Dmitry Bivol. Bitcoin.com is backing Zurdo’s push for the top spot in an exciting partnership for both sides.

Gilberto Ramírez, the 30-year-old former WBO super middleweight champion, with five title defenses at 168 pounds in his impressive 42-0 career, is now two fights away from the World Boxing Association (WBA) belt in the 175-pound, light heavyweight category. On Saturday, Dec. 18, ‘Zurdo de Oro’ (Golden Southpaw) will step into the ring in a match that will determine the challenger for the title.

Ramírez will face Cuban veteran Yunieski Gonzalez, 36, in the main event of a DAZN card that will be aired live from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. The stakes are very high — the winner will meet Dmitry Bivol, also 30 and undefeated, who is holding the WBA light heavyweight belt since 2017. The Kyrgyz-born Russian has a 19-0 record.

Bitcoin.com is proudly sponsoring Gilberto’s powerful journey to the top of the light heavyweight division as part of a partnership deal that both the crypto company and Zurdo’s team find exciting and promising. Bitcoin.com recently set Zurdo up with a Bitcoin.com Wallet and sent him some bitcoin cash (BCH).

“We are extremely excited to reach a new audience and partner with an undefeated boxer who may have a title fight shot,” Bitcoin.com’s CEO Dennis Jarvis emphasized.

Ramírez expressed his gratitude for the support on Instagram, noting his interest in crypto and stating “there’s no better way to buy, sell, trade, invest, and spend than with Bitcoin.com.” In comments sent to Bitcoin.com News, the boxing star revealed he believes this is the beginning of a long-term relationship and shared his hope to bring great value to it. Zurdo also stated:

I’m excited to be part of the Bitcoin.com team. It’s an honor and a blessing to be working with such an innovative company in a young industry that I’ve studied for a long time. I’ve been a believer in crypto for several years now and I can’t think of a better team to be partnering with than Bitcoin.com.

The Golden Southpaw will try to unify titles at 175 before moving up a weight class. Speaking to boxing media earlier this week, he said he feels good at light heavyweight and also admitted he would eventually have to go up to cruiserweight. Bitcoin.com’s team wishes Gilberto success on his knockout path to continue what is already a remarkable career for a professional boxer in his prime.
